    CRYING AT THE BEACH is a musical project created by "M".
    "M" is an anonymous artist.

    Here is a message from them:

    Hello my name is "M".
    The goal of CRYING AT THE BEACH is to separate the art from the artist. By doing this I will not show my face and will not use my real name. Instead I will mononymously be referred to as “M” for as long as I would like. In a world where most consumers are fixated by visuals, and conventional beauty, every product needs to be eye-catching. Though, music cannot be eye-catching as you do not hear through your eyes. I ask you to look at the artists you listen to. Why do you listen to them? Do you listen to them because you like their faces? Their aesthetics? Or is it because you truly love their music on a deeply personal level?

    It is my belief that visualizers, music videos, etc… should be an add-on to a song. Most pieces of visual production in the music industry today is becoming unauthentic, and listeners are focusing more on the visual aspect of the song and the artist. By doing this, they unintentionally start to neglect the song it self. Though I know this is not always the case, but in the music industry as it is currently, visuals are more profitable than a good song.

    As I breakdown those walls I challenge you to stop looking for visuals to find the songs meaning, and I challenge you to give the song a chance. By staying anonymous I force listeners to take in the music. People are so used to having a face to go with their music they forget that music is meant to be heard, not seen.

    To the mass media, I am aware I am not the first artist to attempt this. I believe I am only adding to the idea of anonymous art. To all my friends and family, I plead you to not expose my true identity as it would destroy the true intent of this project. And to the listener, I understand curiosity, but please remember I am still human and I feel things just like you.
